The stone statue of Saint Cécile stands in a frame on the right façade of the Madeleine.
Saint Cécile is one of the very early saints, having lived around 200 a.d.
She is thought to be the origin of church music and this statue by Auguste Dumont (1842) shows her with a large writing feather in her right hand and a harp cradling in her left arm.

Marble statue of Saint Geneviève in Jardin du Luxembourg. The statue is part of the group of women of royal standing and female saints.
The statue of Saint Geneviève was created by Michel Mercier in 1845. She has very long open hair with two plaids at the sides. She wears a tight top and a long skirt. Her right hand rests on her left, which holds some cloth.
From a young age Geneviève devoted herself to religious living. In the year 451 she persuaded the inhabitants of Paris not to surrender to the Huns.

Saint Geneviève wears a medium long cape over a long skirt with top and holds her hands in prayer across her heart. The stone statue was created by Jean Debay in 1842.

The stone statue of St Bernard is located in one of the many insets outside the Madeleine church.
St Bernard holds a cross high with his left hand and points to it with his right. He is wearing his habit. St. Bernard lived from 1090 - 1153. He led the reform of the Benedictinian Order and was nominated to help chose between two potential candidates for the papal position.
The statue has been made by Honoré Jean-Aristide Husson in 1842.

Principal group of figures of Fontaine Saint-Michel
The dark bronze statue of St Michael fighting the Devil by Francisque Duret (1860) is the centre piece of the Fontaine Saint-Michel in the 5th arrondissement. Saint Michael with his large wings towers over a fallen devil lying on a rock. With one hand he points up to the sky, in the other he holds his sword ready to strike his adversary.
He is wearing a Roman-style uniform with breast-plate and short skirt.
The rock has been sculpted by Félix Saupin.
