The statue immediately lets you think of Rodin's 'The Thinker'. It is however a statue created by Jean Valette. Valette's statue is called Il despit - le dépit and was created in 1868, long before Rodin's sculpture 'The Thinker', which was created 1880 - 1882.
Le dépit - The Disappointment shows a young musician, sitting down, his left hand supporting his head by leaning on hhis right leg, while his foot is resting on his lyre.
His right hand is closed and placed on his thigh.
