The station Victor Hugo opened on 13 December 1910. It is an underground station situated in the 16th arrondissement. It is served by the metro line 2. The station is named after the French romantic writer and politician Victor Hugo (26 February 1802 – 22 May 1885). His works include 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' and 'Les Misérables'.

Entrance

The outside of the station is in the Art Nouveau style. The two lamps at either side ressemble large, slender flowers with red petals. They are holding a sign with the text 'Metropolitain' between them.

The surround of the entrance is made up of the original Guimard panels. Only a few stations still have those.

At the end of the entrance, at ground level, are three round lamps in green fixings. They provide light to the entrance and stairs.

Metal handrails have been added to both sides of the walls.

The walls are tiled in small rectangular ceramic tiles. The top row is turquoise.

Modified Signage reading Victor Judo

It is tradition for the RATP to take part in in the tradition of April Fools jokes.

In 2024 it renamed a number of stations to celebrate the olympic and para-olympic games which take place later that year, as well as to highlight the week of olympic and para-olympic games (2 - 6 April 2024).

For a day, the platform of this station was renamed to Victor Judo.

Red plastic seats have been fixed on red bars screwed to the wall. Behind them are large advertising boards with an ocre frame made of ocre decorated tiles.
